I too am shocked by the negative reviews.....this weekend the wife, puppyface and I spent time on Tilghman Island, on the way back we stopped in St Michaels since we had puppyface with us our choice for food was limited....we saw Marcoritaville with its outdoor seating and inquired if they were pet friendly which they are......after being seated and when our waitress returned with menus and a surprise for puppyface she immediately gave here a bowl of water and bought a bone for her from the kitchen....our service was spot on and the food was fresh flavorful and hot ..... will definitely go there again when we are in the neighborhood.........

Came for drinks and they were fine. Service was slow, and seriously it's 95 degrees outside. Turn in the air conditioning.

It's probably not fair to write a review when we did not actually get to eat at this place, but that's why I'm giving it a 1! We sat down outside immediately, waitress took our drink order fairly quickly, but then it was all down hill from there. Drinks finally arrived, but the food, after an hour, didn't. We were patient for a little while, but then we asked the waitress twice about the food. We had somewhere to be and could not wait any longer so we left. The manager apologized and didn't charge us for the drinks, but come on, an hour for 4 sandwiches and fries? There are a bunch of other restaurants in St. Michael's who will probably feed you in a timely manner. Go there!

This was one of the worst experiences I have had in years! We ordered a half pound of shrimp with onions and got 6 shrimp on a plate with a lemon wedge. They served us oysters on the half shell in 90 degree weather without putting them on ICE! They even managed to over cook my stepson's chicken fingers!!! Our waitress had dirty finger nails and band aides all over her fingers!! We were extremely disappointed in the food. I would not recommend this place to anyone! EVER!!!

We were looking for a quick bite and a drink. Sat us at a great table overlooking talbot street. Owner was very nice. Ordered a couple of local beers, fish and ships and a shrimp salad sandwich . Very tasty. Love the atmosphere, a great change of pace. Service was very friendly and good prices.

This appears to be a cute place ob appearance for great people watching but the food was mediocre at best and a bit overpriced. The upside was the owner was a friendly gentleman with an upbeat personality. Advise. Stick to just getting drinks.

For a first-time soft shell crab eater, I thought the soft shell crab sandwich was really tasty and fresh. It came on white bread with tartar, tomato, lettuce, and onion. I thought It was seasoned properly and not too salty. Onion rings were meh--too much breading and a bit soggy with grease. Very friendly service and fun atmosphere on the patio with excellent views for people watching. Very expensive, but you're paying for the location. Would give it more stars if it were more affordable.

The facts: 1) Mojito had rotten mint leaves. 2) margarita tasted like saltwater. 3) Coronas tasted like coronas. My advice is to order things not made on premises.

Bad. Just bad. Frustrating from the first moment we arrived. The hostess we clueless and not seating the folks waiting even though there were a number of open tables. No waitress approached our table for 15 minutes even to say "Hi, I'll be right with you", one of my pet peeves at a restaurant. We ordered oysters, conch fritters, and peel and eat shrimp, and all three were sub par. The oysters were warm and covered in dirt (very unappetizing) and served with flavorless horseradish and cocktail sauce; the conch fritters tasted more like potato fritters; and the shrimp were likewise flavorless. Our waitress seemed annoyed that she was assigned our table. What a godawful restaurant. I wish I had checked Yelp before we sat down because we wouldn't have fallen into this tourist trap if we had read the other reviews here. Marco you sound like a nice guy based on what others have said but you should be ashamed of yourself for the dreck you call food that you serve your patrons.

Horrible.. I ordered their "almost famous ribs" the meal was over cooked. It was like eating jerky. Save yourself the money and go else where!!

The whole kitchen needs to be fired. Service was sooooo sloooow. This was not the waitress' fault, as they were all moving with blinding speed through the dining room. The food was just coming out at a snail's pace. This was true for absolutely every table I could see. When it did come out, it was either terrible or wrong. Wings were good enough, but came out with a cup of tarter sauce? The fish tacos came out as a small bowl of non-seasoned fish with some semi-melted cheese on top, sitting on a plate with lettuce/raw onion ring/tomato combo you'd get with a burger. When asked about the "tacos", we were then given two tortillas wrapped in tinfoil. Avoid this place.

This restaurant caught my eye with the outside seating on a nice summer day. Our waitress was very short with us when we were ordering, and we had to ask different servers to assist us on two different occasions when we could not find her. My sushi was okay, but my friend's meal was over priced, cold valveeta mac and cheese and less than teaspoon of crab meat on top. When my friend told the waitress that her meal was less than she expected, she said okay and shrugged her shoulders. There was no apology or statement she would report the feedback let alone receiving something to compensate for paying $26 for it. This location might be better suited for drinking only.

What a horrible experience. The only reason I wanted to leave a review was because our server was nice and sort of accommodating. The best part of the meal was that we didn't get sick afterwards. The grilled fish taco's were boiled in water and sprinkled with old-bay - the pulled pork sandwich was sad and dreary - the shrimp salad was a dollop of mayo sprinkled with thawed cocktail shrimp.

So......good and bad experience. Like many others, we noticed this place on the way through St. Michaels and found our way back there while touring around...on a Thursday. The good: waitress was friendly and prompt AT FIRST. Our water and drink orders came out right away. They were willing to accommodate my friend's dietary needs, appetizers came out right away, and most of all, the location and setting were great! Margaritas were ok. The bad: (dental hygiene) things went downhill fast as we moved further into the lunch hour. The waitresses got swamped, people were seated around us and not served anything, not even water, and we waited for an hour for sandwiches....nothing hard-just a burger and turkey with lettuce. This place has so much potential. Too bad it's getting by on looks (outside only) alone. I'm giving it a two for looks and atmosphere. I hope someone from the restaurant reads these reviews. These are not new problems.

We had excellent service the 4 times we were in for dinner lunch and breakfast. The food was awesome. The rockfish was really good. Breakfast was delish too. The tomato red pepper salad was awesome. The service was the best in St Michaels. We got great service from Marco the owner , Ginny and Ronnie the Bartenders. Try it you will love it

My sons and I went here for lunch on Saturday. The food was awful and overpriced.. The waitresses had dirty nails, rotten teeth. The burger was still mooing, and cold, and when I shared my experience with a co worker she knows someone who worked for him in Tilghman and said he would serve anything, and Tilghman would not renew his lease. The outdoor tables are very inviting, but not worth it. I wouldn't even bring my burger home for my dog. Don't waste your money !

It is what you would expect from a small town margarita/tiki bar. Nothing special and on the pricey side.

Owner was so nice but drinks were watered down and the crab cakes were not good although the clams and oysters weren't bad. The waitress was really nice. Atmosphere was nice.

Don't listen to Brad S and his bad day. We come by boat many times a summer and always make this one of our stops. The owner is funny and usually comes out to talk to the tables. We were there on May 25 for my grandmas 94 bday and everyone loved it.

Was passing through St. Michaels on the way back from a fishing trip at Tilghman Island and decided to stop for lunch. We were a group of 5 and the owner greeted us upon arrival and was incredibly friendly and helpful. While chatting with us as he showed us to our table he inquired as to why we were in the area. After learning that we had been on a fishing trip he offered to prepare some of our fresh catch right there! Awesome! Doesn't get better than that! We gave him a few of the filets and he prepared them 3 ways - blackened cajun, one in some sort of butter sauce and a sushi dish! Each of them was delicious. Would definitely recommend this to anyone passing through with freshly caught fish! The fishing trip is an annual event and we'll definitely swing by Marcoritaville again next year!

Got to St Michaels mid afternoon, checked into our room and set out to find a bite the explore. Saw this place on the way into town and drove back looking for eats. Sat outside and as we waited, we looked at Yelp...sorry we didn't sooner. Read the reviews about the average at best food and poor service, we would have never stopped here. Decided to go for just a drink and app then find better elsewhere. Had a Corona and my wife opted for a upgrade over the house white wine...Kendall Jackson. Not sure what the house wine was but if KJ is an upgrade...? Tough to mess up a Corona, unless you put a lime with brown edges in it. (yes it did). The app was a crab and spinach dip. Very boring. Seemed to be a blend of cream cheese and sour cream with a bit of lump crab on top sprinkled with old bay. Very "ho hum". Looks touristy and it is. Nice location but needs work.

Not great. We got there at 11:03am for brunch and they would not allow us to eat the brunch/bfast menu (they were still bringing eggs out for people). The waitress was not receptive AT ALL to my allergy concerns...so much so that I just ordered a greek salad....because I didn't trust that I wouldn't get sick with anything else. I would not return to this place.

I dined at Marcoritaville for Brunch in late July. Though they don't have an official Brunch menu, we arrived at 1030 on a Sunday and they let my party dine from both the breakfast and lunch menu. The patio, generous in size had ample shade from umbrellas and fans circulating air. Half out party went with omelets and they other half tried burgers. Everyone thought their food was average quality and in line with the price point. Server was very attentive and the Kitchen had no issue meeting several special requests. For a casual breakfast or lunch I wouldn't hesitate to reco this restaurant. The day we visited there were a half dozen other tables dining so I can't rate how they do with a full restaurant.

Two star rating only because of the food. It was less than mediocre, undersalted, and underflavored (incl. the fries). Our server was nice and tried hard, though this place is so busy we would often not see her for 20+ minute spans. The location and atmosphere are neat (although we sat inside and the chef was constantly yelling out the server's names), but the food was just...bland.

We came to St Michaels to look at the boats and have a beer. I am surprised to see so many bad reviews. Although the service was a little slow, the beer was good and cold AND we had appetizers. The appetizers were fantastic! The fried oysters were NOT Sysco but fresh and lightly breaded at the restaurant. They are THE BEST fried Oysters, I've ever had. We also ordered the Lump Crab cocktail. Again, the crab cocktail was fantastic! They served about 3/4 cup lump crab for $11.00 on a leaf of lettuce. We will definitely return!

Stumbled upon this awesome place during our stay in St. Michael's, and we couldn't have even imagined the diverse menu from just looking at the decor. Hmm... jack of all trades master of none? NOT!! Not one thing we ordered for lunch was even mediocre. From a bowl of Pho, to the coleslaw (yes - a side I had to try based on the menu description), to the fish sandwich special - all genuinely and exquisitely tasting and presented. The owner and staff know how to make you feel welcome and have a laugh or two before you even sit down.

The food was OK but nothing was worth that wait! It took such a chunk out of our day we should have left. It's a great town and we were sorry we wasted so much time waiting for mediocre food.

Delicious drinks, atmosphere, food all nestled away in a hidden from tourist little quite dream town!!!!! Came here with a friend for his birthday with another friend of ours and my son and we had a blast. Service was amazing from drink recommendations to food ideas and suggestions. Our waitress was a super friendly woman who was uber upbeat and such a pleasure to have take care of us. We ate here for lunch and let me say their rum punch is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I don't live near here and it was about a 2.5 hour drive but the town, people, food and experience is worth it. While eating here I tried the lightly fried soft shell crab sandwich with potato salad. This was amazing so soft and delicious served with a freah kaiser roll and all crisp flavorful up veggie toppings!!! As for my son he had the macaroni and cheese (homemade) and split a crab cake ball app with me. He loved it all, however I was the one who seemed to like the tarter and cocktail sauce he wanted nothing to do with either it seemed. While there we sat outside in the tiki tables and listened to the island themed music played on the steel drum and I felt like I was in paradise. After our super filling meal we walked around checking out all the shoppes and even stopped by the brewery to bring home a growler of beer to enjoy later. This is a place worth seeing if your from the DC metro area, it's calm, quite and peaceful and well needed time to relax.

I need to preface this review by saying that it is solely for the food because the service is great! Genie was our waitress, was very attentive, and provided us with a map and some tips for getting the most out of our St. Michael's stay. The owner, Marco, also stopped by our table and greeted us like we were old friends! So, I had a hankering for sushi and this place had a very diverse menu so we decided to test it out. I ordered just a regular California and spicy shrimp roll (how can you get any more basic than that), and while it wasn't terrible it definitely was not better than places that I had given 4 stars. The rice was slightly hard and tasted somewhat old, but other than that it was simply ok. My boyfriend got a portobello burger, which was half off on Tuesdays, but the mushrooms themselves were so small and the dish came with no sides. The one nice part about it was the avocado that came on top. All in all, it is a nice environment with great outdoor seating space and a great wait staff. Maybe if we had tried other items it would have improved the visit.

The day we went was a gorgeous day so we sat outside. Outside seating is always a nice touch. I ordered the coconut shrimp and wasn't impressed at all. And my orange crush for $8.95 wasn't good at all. Both items that are hard to mess up in my eyes. Also, like someone else stated in their rating we were surprised that my husbands burger didn't come with at least some chips. A $13 burger should have something with it. What really disappointed me is that both my sister (who paid separate) and I had extra charges on our credit cards. My sister had an extra charge of over $100! She called and spoke with a manager who stated it would be taken care of in which it was not. The extra charge on my credit card was $80. We didn't call just waited to see if it would clear and it did not. Still it's very frustrating for that much money to be sitting in a holding state for no reason. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area. I wouldn't waste my time coming here again.

Food was mediocre at best. Oysters were $1 each, but they were served on a Styrofoam plate and weren't rinsed and were served with ice on top (?) - I guess you get what you pay for. We ordered two burgers cooked medium, but both ended up cooked well done. Nice location, but will not be coming back.

Everythiong about this place says caribbean, seaside, laid back and easy! Nice outdoor spot on the main strip. The food was diverse and very good. The drinks were as well. The waitresses and the owner are very friendly. The only thing that keeps me from giving this a five-star rating is the bees that are attracted the the many flowers that surround the perimeter of the outdoor section.

Ho-rib-le... I expect to see this place on an episode of Bar Rescue shortly. My friend and I stopped here during WineFest. Quite honestly, if we weren't starving and standing right in front of it, we probably would have gone some place else with a less cheesy name, but we were hungry, it was a nice day and it had out door seating, and it had a nice crowd so it couldn't be that bad, right? Our waitress, Shirley, seemed more like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us, and every time we asked her for something she seemed a bit bothered. When she did drop something off at the table, she would do it so fast that it was almost as if she was hoping we wouldn't be able to ask her for something else. We ordered hot wings as an app and since I know that some places around here don't always toss the wings in the sauce I asked that they specifically be tossed. I was told that they probably couldn't be since the kitchen was busy. I'm sorry, but last time I checked when you go to a restaurant,, the kitchen should be able to accommodate 'special requests' that aren't really that special. As our entrees, my friend ordered the Pho, which she said was good. She would have liked some soy sauce with it, but was afraid to ask our waitress for it since she seemed bothered by all our crazy requests... for things like drinks, and condiments. I ordered a Bacon and Avocado Cheeseburger cooked medium. It was a $12 burger that came with NOTHING! not even potato chips!. When my $12 burger came out it had one small sliver of avocado on it and the burger patty was so small it reminded me of the old "where's the beef?" commercials. The diameter of it was half the size of an opening of 16oz plastic cup (what they served my soda in). For the price they charged for it, and with no sides, I would expect something much more substantial than what I had. The burger was also extremely over cooked and dry and it was quite obvious that it was sitting under the heat lamp for a bit because when it came out the cheese was greasy as if it was sitting for a while. I wasn't planning on eating the roll anyway, but it was dried out. It was pretty obvious that I was not happy with my meal but our waitress didn't seemed concerned. The quickest I saw her move the entire time we were there was when we asked for the check. Maybe the only way I would return to this place is if I was only planning to drink and not eat.

Can't say what the food is like, as we showed up for dinner at 9 on Sunday, and the place was closed. We called first, and got a recording claiming they were open 7 days for lunch and dinner, but offering no information on actual hours. We got there and got out to check hours, but still no posted hours. Perhaps they just open and close whenever they feel like? I get that this whole town closes early, but you have to at least let people know when you are open.

The slowest restaraunt we've been to in a while. Waited over an hour for our food and when it finally arrived it was cold. The only good meal was the crab cake sandwich. I wouldn't bother coming here again to eat.....maybe just for my wife to get one mixed drink.

  • Jim B.

The food was not impressive, sandwiches didn't even come with sides! Strawberry daiquiri was very bland and my pulled pork sandwich barely had any BBQ. Definitely not worth the price, I'm afraid to see what the seafood is like.

Too pricey!! Love the caribbean feel of the outdoor seating and the server was polite but $80 for 2 ppl (burger, pulled pork, and 2 drinks each) is insane!!!

HORRIBLE! The descriptions on the menu 'tasted' better than the food! I ordered a pasta dish with crab and shrimp over it. When i saw it i new it was going to be tasteless and needless to say, i was correct. It was simply a plate of white spaghetti with a few clumps of crab meat and some boiled shrimp on top. Absolutely tasteless! Something a kid could make. My husband got the 'crabcakes'. Horrible again. I did not see, nor taste, any crabmeat. Only a dough-like filler. I dont' know who the cook is but if they want to stay in business, they'd better find another one. I'm assuming it was the owner who greeted us and appeared friendly. Asked us where we were from, told us where he was from, Philadelphia, and said jokingly he was there under the witness protection program (ha ha). Then, I was totally taken aback when I overheard him trying to bait another customer into talking about the riots in Baltimore; how 'they started a riot so they'd have an excuse to steal' and how the 'people' in the White House have totally turned everything upside down. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, personally, I felt just because the customer was white, the owner felt he could start this negative dialogue with him. However, the customer did not take the bait. Did not respond. Definitely looked uncomfortable. He ate his food and left. We will DEFINITELY not be returning.

St. Michaels is an extremely small town so we stopped at this place while walking into town. They have a few beers to choose from, but some were out of stock, but they allowed us to try all the other beers. For lunch, I ordered the mushroom burger with Bleu cheese. I thought this was a vegetarian burger (they have both a vegetarian option and a non veggie option and the description said it was vegetarian) but it came and was a burger WITH mushrooms as opposed to a veggie burger. Let's just say this was the first time I ever ate a burger. It was a bit over cooked but didn't completely ruin burgers for me forever. Another person at my table got a burger also and had the same reaction. Not sure if I would come back here, but it's one of the few restaurants in the area. But when youre ordering, don't assume anything. Ask a lot of questions.

Was in St. Michaels for their Fall Festival. A beautiful Saturday and Marcortaville was jumping. The owner seated us outside despite being packed and we had a great late afternoon snack. The wings were superb as were the Conch fritters. Despite being busy the service was outstanding. We look forward to our next visit

Had crab melt, fried oyster sandwich, and fish and chips. All were very good and priced reasonably to a tad high. The amount of crab on the melt was fantastic. Food served promptly and wait staff attentive. Nice outside seating. Beware flies so you may want to eat inside. Overall a nice place to eat. My daughter wants everyone to know you can make a nice onion volcano. :-)

Brutally terrible. Really. I mean really. This is not a restaurant. It is a bar. Do not eat here. I am very lenient with my reviews and typically give places 4 or 5 stars. I feel so strongly about how bad this meal is that I'm still sitting at the table, waiting for the check and writing this. I ordered the Shrimp Puttanesca. $20. Cold linguine with no sauce and a few overcooked shrimp. My husband had Rockfish Tacos. Came in plastic cups with 2 tacos wrapped in foil, clearly right out of the fridge. The meal took 2 hours for beer, calamari (also awful) and entrees. Just horrific.

  • Victoria Z.

Well, I think the only reason this place stays in business is because of the location and the fact that many tourists come in just for the day. If Marcoritaville was in a normal town, business would be pretty dismal. Luckily enough for them, they are thriving off of tourists who leave disappointed or just plain upset! Unfortunately, my family and I were upset. Between the slow service, the waitress with an attitude, missing food and weak drinks, we left hungry and rushed with little time left to enjoy the rest of our visit to St. Michaels. If you're looking for a way to miss your ride back and spend your visit in a disappointing tiki bar, this is the place for you!

Our lunch options were somewhat limited since we had to find a place with outdoor seating in order to accommodate our adorable dog, Turbo. They did certainly accommodate the pup because they even have metal dog bowls for the four legged friends that join them out on the patio. The problems with this restaurant extend far beyond any food. I really feel like if they don't make a change with the way things are run, this restaurant WILL be on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. It has a lot of the same symptoms that restaurants that end up on that show have. Service: forget the word SLOW. This was beyond slow. We thought it was the waitress, who in the beginning of waiting on our table warned us she was new, but realized it was mostly everyone out on the patio who was waiting long times for food. They messed up our order and brought it out at kind of random times. My dad ordered the french dip sandwich and never got it. The waitress said it fell on the floor and they were making a new one, but we saw two exit the kitchen before the waitress even came over to our table. One of those should have taken priority you would think. I said to our waitress after we were all done eating that my dad was the one who really needed to eat because he's diabetic. She apologized and brought out a free piece of cake. Uh, he's diabetic, but nice try? Over an hour of sitting at the table later, and still no french dip, we got the bill. Nothing was comped (we don't want to get fat by eating free dessert, SOMETHING on this bill should be comped... drinks... A (SINGLE?) drink even?) It wasn't. EVEN THE FRENCH DIP THAT WE NEVER GOT WAS ON THERE! So I went up to the hostess and asked politely to talk to the manager. And that's where it gets interesting. There is no front of house/back of house manager. There is an owner. And he is in the kitchen cooking himself. And the waitresses don't wait for tickets (like how a normal kitchen operates.) When the server's food is ready he YELLS out their name. Obviously I didn't take the owner away from his busy day of cooking behind the line, but it's easy to tell that this place has a serious lack of management which is not the servers fault. Now as for the server. Like I said, not her fault -- entirely. But when I asked the hostess to talk to the manager she got REALLY defensive and upset. I waited tables for almost two years so I know what it can be like. But you can't get offended. She was fine until she got downright mean about how the day had played out. In case she (or any server really) reads this, THAT is what will effect your tip. Not the fact that the kitchen messed up your order, or the wait was long... it's how you handle it. If it was my table, I would have offered "hey, can I get you a refill on your soda while you wait?" (which she didn't do by the way) or "I know you guys are waiting but as soon as it's ready I promise I will take it right out." -- Nothing. Maybe she'll learn from this experience. But it seems like they have a high roll-over of staff, which is not hard to believe considering how this business is operated. I hope they can get it together because they have a great location and potential to be a nice spot. As for now, do what the other reviewers said and just keep walking.

Stopped here for mid-day drinks during a bachelorette party in St. Michaels. The outdoor deck is amazing for sitting outside and having drinks. We were given a free round of drinks which was an awesome touch. Great place for drinking out in the sunshine.

I am surprised by the negative reviews of this restaurant. I live in DC but have a weekend house in St. Michael's. We have eaten here many times -- it has the BEST cream of crab soup we have ever eaten. My out of town guests have insisted on going back to have that soup again and again. There are plenty of options for everyone -- the other food is perfectly fine, if not gourmet (although I would also rate the Pho quite high). We have all enjoyed the chicken parmesan. The drinks are terrific. And the owner/host, Marco, is the most genial restauranteur you will ever encounter. We are always pleased to see him. Try it -- especially the cream of crab soup --, and have an open mind!

Charlie B I had a good tine at the outdoor boat bar, good food and friendly staff. Very attentive and this service was good too. Rode our Harley's down, was a good ride from Glen Burnie.

This is in a prime location to sit outside, people watch and enjoy some drinks. We sat right on the edge of the deck over looking the street. The drinks were good. The sushi was average and we were expecting a bit more given the location. We got a burger and sweet potato fries, the fries were the best part, the burger was hand made which I give them credit for, but was not seasoned and 1/2 the size of the bun it was served in. We spend about $80 and it could have been spent more wisely. Would try this place again to give them a fair chance.
